Thomas Rivers Brown has been on the Wine Spectator cover as Napa's Top Gun. Hardin Ranch is not a negociant white. It is Matt Hardin's home ranch, farmed by the same family that has been on this ground since 1852, and TRB is in the cellar.

Thomas Rivers Brown was born in Sumter, South Carolina, studied economics and literature at Virginia, and arrived in Napa in December 1997 at Turley. The résumé that followed — Schrader, Maybach, Outpost, Rivers-Marie, and a stack of 100-point wines — is why accounts still say his name first.
Matt Hardin is the other half of Matthew Wallace. Farming on both sides of his family since 1849, Cal Poly, Bettinelli, twelve years with Jim Barbour, then Hardin Vineyard Management in 2021. He and Brown started Matthew Wallace to bottle the family's historic properties instead of only farming them for other people.
Hardin Ranch is the Sauvignon Blanc door on that map. Restaurant allocation at $14 a bottle is how this wine reaches a glass program without pretending it is a $45 trophy white.

The Hardins have been on Napa ground since 1852. Hardin Ranch is not a purchased name on a label. It is the family's ranch, farmed in the same register as the Cabernet blocks TRB already knows how to read.
Sauvignon Blanc here is vineyard-driven: citrus, herbs, and a cool line rather than a tropical cocktail. The ranch photograph on this page is the actual site, not a stock valley.
The live restaurant path is three 12-bottle cases at $14 a bottle against a $45 SRP. Wine-Searcher U.S. listings on the 2024 ran $24.38–$44.71 when the check hit.
