James Regusci Jr. grew up on the family ranch, took Agricultural Sciences at Oregon State, worked horticulture at The French Laundry, and returned to Regusci Vineyard Management in 2019. In 2020 he launched Four Doors. His father, Jim Regusci, is the 2026 Napa Valley Grower of the Year.

Single-block Cabernet from volcanic-to-alluvial Stags Leap soils, made with Bill Nancarrow. The 2023 season was one of Napa's longest in a decade: water in reserve, a mild summer, and Cabernet hanging into late September and early October.

Regusci Jr.
For James Regusci Jr., agriculture is in the blood. Like his father, Jim, and grandfather, Angelo, he learned farming on the family ranch in Stags Leap District.
He took a degree in Agricultural Sciences at Oregon State University, then came home to Napa to work horticulture at The French Laundry and join Regusci Vineyard Management in 2019.
In 2020 he opened his own door as a fourth-generation farmer and vintner. Four Doors is that project. The 2023 Cabernet is Block 1, clone 15, with Bill Nancarrow as winemaker. Napa Valley Grapegrowers named his father, James "Jim" Regusci, the 2026 Napa Valley Grower of the Year.
The estate
Where power learns restraint.
Stags Leap District is Cabernet country shaped by rock, loam, warm afternoons, and cooling marine air. The regional signature is ripe fruit with polished tannin and lift.
Four Doors farms Block 1, clone 15, on volcanic influence and eroded Vaca Mountain material over valley-floor river sediment, gravelly loam, and a clay-like substructure. Afternoon marine winds temper the district's radiating rock.
The 2023 vintage took the long way to ripeness. Napa Valley Vintners called it a vintage of a lifetime: winter and spring rain, a mild summer, and Cabernet harvest around late September and early October.

Published notes for the exact 2023 bottling describe a full-bodied, focused Cabernet with floral lift, dark fruit, savory spice, mineral definition, and fine-grained tannin. Subtle florals, blackcurrant, crushed blackberry, black cherry, cigar box, and baking spice lead to ripe plum, cocoa nib, vanilla, clove, vibrant acidity, powerful refined tannin, and a long polished finish.
