Why this bottle belongs on the list
Two selling points.
Then the market.
Sister Moon. Master of Wine. Thomson Vineyard.
Sorélune is French for Sister Moon. Nova Cadamatre MW — first American female winemaker to earn the title — makes this Carneros Chardonnay with Jennifer Thomson at Thomson Vineyard, directly across from Hyde.
Haire clay loam over claypan. Clone 76.
The Napa side of Carneros, 80–120 feet, south-facing, cool maritime ripening, low vigor from a dense claypan. Oak for structure, never dominance. Partial ML with a non-buttery strain.

Nova
Cadamatre MW
Nova started as a winemaking apprentice at Stargazers in 2003, took Viticulture at Cornell in 2006, moved to California, and in 2017 became the first female winemaker in the United States to earn the Master of Wine. Wine Enthusiast named her a Top 40 Under 40 Tastemaker in 2014.
Jennifer Thomson farms Thomson Vineyard on the Napa side of Carneros, across from Hyde. The two of them built Sorélune as a woman-owned Chardonnay, keg-only, for programs that want luxury fruit without wasting a bottle on the by-the-glass pour.
The 19.5 L Free Flow keg is the package. Oak is 48% new French (Dargaud Jaegle & Damy, medium toast), 36% once-used, 16% stainless. Partial ML, non-buttery strain.

Haire clay loam over a dense claypan limits vigor and concentrates flavor while keeping acidity. South-facing slopes at 80–120 feet, cool maritime ripening. Clone 76.
That is the BTG argument: luxury fruit, keg economics, less oxidation, less waste. One 19.5 L keg replaces a case-plus of bottles.
Carneros is the coolest, windiest, foggiest Napa sub-appellation. This Chardonnay should taste like it — not like a Napa masquerade.
